Description

The excursion begins at the port “Bajo de las Sombras”, located on Route 11, Km 70.9, an hour and a half from El Calafate and just 7 km from the Perito Moreno Glacier.

The passenger must make his own way to the port and once there, it will embark to navigate the Rico arm of Argentino Lake, where it can see the impressive ice wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier and the icebergs that come from it.

This navigation lasts one hour and offers the possibility of observing from the comfortable boats, and with a totally different perspective, the impressive walls of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its continuous and thunderous landslides on the waters of the arm Rico.

400 meters from the south wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier, the boat stops for a few minutes to observe the landscape in more detail. Closer to the breaking wall impossible!

Nautical Safari is a navigation suitable for all ages and can be done the 365 days of the year.
This excursion is aimed at people who want to contemplate the magic of ice and immortalize it in their memory, observing every detail of the ice wall and its surroundings.

Itinerary

Example departure 11:30 am.

• 11:10 am: presentation in Puerto Bajo de La Sombras.
  Shipment.
• 11:30 am: catamaran departure.
  Navigation and approach to the south face of the Perito Moreno glacier.
• 12:30 pm: return to port.

• On a sunny day, wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
• Don’t trust the Patagonian sun, always bring a coat.
• In winter, wear a hat, gloves and a warm jacket, if it is waterproof, it is better.
• If it takes me a while to arrive at the port of departure, can I notify you?
  The catamaran departs punctually, no-show implies loss of the excursion.
• Is it cold inside the boat?
  The catamaran has excellent heating.
• Can you get off the boat?
  Yes, you can stay on the decks throughout the entire route, except at departure and moorings or expressly indicated by the captain of the boat.
• Are there bathrooms on the catamaran?
  Yes, the catamaran has toilets as well as La Base restaurant.
