In El Calafate you can take an entertaining walk through the city, touring through the most traditional and historical places, next to the famous archaeological site of Punta Walichu.

Walichu Caves Tour & City Tour starts with the pick-up of passengers from their hotels (1).

Walichu Caves and City Tour begins with a visit to Punta Walichu, an archaeological site located 8 km from El Calafate, where you will see footprints of the first inhabitants who walked in these lands.
A walk along the eaves and caves will allow you to see original rock paintings and reproductions, with an exceptional view of  Argentino Lake and the Andes mountain range.

The circuit goes through the main streets of the old town, showing the first constructions of the pioneers and the buildings of the current civic center.
The guide will be responsible for transporting you back in time to the history of the first settlers, showing the flora, fauna and other interesting details that this small Tourist Village treasures.

We will visit the Coastal Promenade and Redonda Bay, meters from the Argentino Lake shore, where the abundant local birdlife is observed.

Then, we will go to the Historical Interpretation Center, where you will observe through a self-guided tour, the events of greatest historical relevance from the glaciations to the present.

After the Historical Interpretation Center visit, you will visit “La Chacra Las Moras”, an example of the possibilities of cultivation in the area.

(*) Check-outs at 3:00 p.m. include: tasting of cold cuts and cheeses, accompanied by one drink per person (beer, gin and tonic, soda or flavored water), this extra service is provided from October 15th to April 15th.

Afterwards, the return to the hotels begins.
