Nativo Experience – Lakes & Caves
Argentino Lake is the third largest lake in South America
Surrounded by mountains and nourished by giant Glaciers, this lake never ceases to amaze locals and strangers with its immensity and special color
Description
It was precisely that light blue color, the mountains covered in white and a light blue sky that motivated Francisco P. Moreno to baptize it Argentine. Other expedition members arrived earlier, and many more were left along the way when trying to go up the Santa Cruz River. This was the case of Darwin and Fitz Roy, who abandoned the odyssey due to the endlessness of the landscape and the fearful vigil of the natives.
Nativo Experience – Lakes & Caves, is a midday 4×4 excursion along the coast of Argentino Lake. It begins with the pick-up of passengers from their hotels(1).
Ideal for the day of arrival or departure, it has an anthropological approach, taking a journey through time about the passage of man in these lands, rediscovering the stories of the first expeditions and daring people who ventured into the unknown.
Among the cliffs and the Andes Mountains views, the excursion focuses on the first contacts of those expeditionaries with the natives, and then enter the Tehuelche world.
On the shores of the lake there are the caves where thousands of years ago that culture left its marks on the rock and which today lead us to its interpretation.
Finally, the excursion culminates in another cave where lunch or dinner is included which will transport us to those remote years.
