Big Ice Perito Moreno Glacier

Description<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The excursion Big Ice Perito Moreno Glacier begins with the passengers searching for their hotels-optional<\/strong>-(1) in El Calafate. On the way to Los Glaciares National Park, the tourist guides will provide you with information about the place, the glacier and the excursion  visiting the walkways in front of the glacier for one hour.<\/p>\n

Once at the port \u201cBajo de las Sombras\u201d or presentation on your own (Route 11, 70 km from El Calafate) you embark to cross the Rico arm of Lake Argentino, arriving at the opposite coast after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the imposing south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Upon arriving at the refuge, the group will be greeted by expert mountain guides, who will divide them into subgroups and accompany them throughout the entire route. The trekking begins with a walk along the moraine for approximately 2 hours, where you can see different panoramic views of the glacier and the forest.<\/p>\n

The Big Ice<\/strong> is a highly personalized excursion: the groups on the ice will be up to 10 people, accompanied by two mountain guides, who will be fitted with crampons, helmets and harnesses and will explain the basic safety rules.<\/p>\n

The physical demand is high both in the forest and on the ice, where the surface is irregular but firm and safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will explore the most special corners of the glacier in the world for approximately three hours. During the tour, the mountain guides will help you better understand the ice, its surroundings and you will be able to measure the magnitude of the glacier and enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains, such as the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli and Cervantes hills. In addition, they will have half an hour to have lunch and be surprised in a place of unparalleled beauty. Time for lunch in the repair area.<\/p>\n

At the end of the walk on the glacier, you will return along the same path until they reach the Refuge, where you will have a few minutes to contemplate this place of unparalleled beauty.<\/p>\n

When taking the return boat, you will navigate very close to the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier and then return to the port of departure.<\/p>\n
